UNDER THE LAW.
David George Tennant was grew up in the Flathead Valley on his great grandparents’ farm. After completing his legal, accounting, advanced taxation law and business administration degrees at colleges that included Montana State University – Bozeman (2001), the University of Montana – Missoula (2004), and New York University (2005), he returned to Kalispell to practice law at Kaufman Vidal Hileman Ellingson PC.
Given the limited amount of tax litigation in Northwest Montana and the current tax laws severely limiting the need for tax planning for even the wealthiest of clients, Mr. Tennant took over dozens of ongoing divorce and child custody cases at the outset of his career, along with all the transactional work (wills, probates, real estate, contracts, etc.) left by retiring partners. The family law cases allowed Mr. Tennant to become familiar with the judges and put him in the courtroom multiple times per week to hone his courtroom skills. He now counsels clients in most areas of litigation and transactional work, including, but not limited to estate and succession planning, probate and trust administration, private companies (including corporations, partnerships and associations), and general business, real estate and commercial transactions. On a selective basis, Mr. Tennant continues to counsel clients on family law matters, including premarital agreements and asset planning, dissolution of marriage (divorce), and child custody arrangements. Mr. Tennant has represented countless plaintiffs and defendants, and litigates various matters to accommodate almost every particular client need, no matter how small or big. Mr. Tennant also does insurance defense work, severe injury and wrongful death matters. If he can’t complete your legal matter, he will find someone that can.
When he is not providing counsel on legal matters, Mr. Tennant seeks out any other form of competition, socializes, spends time with his family and friends, exercises, and golfs.
